1. What is STEP? Who are the people behind it?

 

STEP stands for Society for Technology in Education Philippines. It is an organization for educators who are passionate about integrating technology in teaching and in learning. STEP is an output of eleven (11) Basic Education schools nationwide which participated in the Annual International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) in San Antonio, Texas and in Atlanta, Georgia U.S.A. recently.

 

These schools are the following: Ateneo de Manila High School, Sacred Heart School - Ateneo de Cebu Grade School, Sacred Heart School - Ateneo de Cebu High School, Ateneo de Davao Grade School, Fatima University, Saint Paul College – Pasig, San Beda – Alabang, Sta. Teresa College, University of San Carlos , Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan Grade School and  Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan High School.

 

This year, Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan High School (XUHS) is the host of the 1st Annual STEP Convention. 

 

2. How can I register?

Registration is ONLINE which will start on January 5, 2015 until February 14, 2015

 

5 STEPS to Register

STEP 1: REGISTER ONLINE

STEP 2: PAY

Pay the REGISTRATION FEE (includes STEP 2015 kit, exclusive STEP shirt, snacks & lunch for 2 days)

 

Php    1,500          Early Bird Registration (January 5 - 15, 2015 only)

                    2,000          Registrants from January 16 - February 14

                    2,500          Walk-in Registrants

STEP 3: WAIT FOR PAYMENT NOTIFICATION

Wait for the CONFIRMATION of PAYMENT and REGISTRATION through EMAIL

The confirmation note will contain the LINK of the SESSIONS SELECTION, as well as steps on how to do it online.

 

STEP 4: SELECT YOUR SESSIONS

Click the given SESSIONS SELECTION LINK from your payment & registration notification to choose your sessions for the conference. Availability of slots for sessions are on a First come First served basis 

 

SESSIONS SELECTION closes February 20, 2015. For registrants who fail to choose sessions, admisison to the sessions is subject to availability of slots on the day of the conference.

STEP 5: ATTEND THE CONFERENCE

PRESENT your  printed registration sheet at the Registration Area on the day of the conference

 

4. What do I need to bring during the conference?

 

You are REQUIRED to BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE (B-Y-O-D). Learning devices like tablets, smart phones and laptops are needed for you to take part of the sessions as well as to take note of insights gathered from the conference. Along with your devices, please do not forget to bring along your chargers and/or battery pack (if any). Bringing of Pocket Wi-Fi is also encouraged. Be ready as well with exchanging files from your sessions!

 

5. I am not from Cagayan de Oro. Where can I stay for the entire duration of the conference?

 

Upon your online registration, you will be given options for your accommodations. These establishments are just a stone's throw away from XUHS. Housed participants will also be fetched by STEP Transportation Team.

 

6. Aside from the wide array of Ed Tech sessions, what can I get from attending STEP?

 

A National Certificate of Participation and Attendance will be given to all STEP participants. These certificates will be given at the end of the event. Aside from this, you can also widen your education network, meet and exchange contacts with teachers from Cagayan de Oro and other key cities around the country.

 

Not to mention, you will be meeting 3 topnotched people from the field of technology and education during the Keynote Sessions (Be ready with your selfie!).
